DNW

The art of wind tunnel testing @DNW by Christophe Hermans (Director)

The German-Dutch Wind Tunnels DNW is one of Europe’s most advanced and specialized organizations for wind tunnel testing. DNW’s eleven wind tunnels include subsonic, transonic and supersonic facilities, and provide experimental aerodynamic simulation capabilities to a global user community at large. DNW provides techniques for aerodynamic, aeroacoustic or aeroelastic simulations and tests of scaled models in a controlled environment. Its experimental simulation techniques capture the essence of the issues to be investigated.

DNW conducts wind tunnel projects for the research community (universities, research establishments or research consortia) and for industry developing new products. Most of the industrial development projects originate in the aeronautical industry, but the automotive, civil engineering, shipbuilding and sports industries have also benefited from DNW’s capabilities.

DNW operates its own large, low-speed facility (LLF) and the aeronautical wind tunnels of the parent companies German Aerospace Center DLR and the Netherlands Aerospace Centre NLR. The Large Low-speed Facility (LLF) in Marknesse (the Netherlands) is an industrial wind tunnel for the low-speed domain. It is a closed circuit, atmospheric, continuous low-speed wind tunnel with one closed wall and one configurable (slotted) wall test section and an open jet. Low speed means testing of aircraft in take-off and landing flight configurations.

The presentation will provide you with an overview of DNW’s capabilities and its state-of-the-art measurement techniques that are being applied to support the development of the next generation of low emission aircraft. Furthermore the typical work flow during the execution of a wind tunnel project will be presented.

THE FUTURE IS YOURS
A boost in your career skills: learn from the best and take a look through the recruitment glass with InWork.

An interview training
This is it. The future is yours. Are you ready for it? It’s that moment you wake up and realize time is flying. Before you know it, you’ll be taking the passenger seat towards the future. Preparing for a job interview, getting ready for landing. But do you know what is important during job interviews? How to prepare yourself as best as you can?

Questions to ask the interviewer are overlooked by most job seekers. Even though a job interview should be a two-way conversation, very few candidates put enough effort into preparing good questions to ask. This workshop will help you understand the employer’s perspective and how to play into their needs effectively. We will focus on the interview that you need to do to get that future job or internship. So be prepared to aim for the sky and question-and-answer.

This practical workshop will help you build confidence
for your next application for a job or internship

Tuesday 19th of January from 17:00 – 18:30

Group: max. 30 people

TAKING THE ENTREPRENEUR SHIP – website post

A boost in your career skills: learn the skill set of becoming an entrepreneur with InWork.

Are you interested in being an entrepreneur? Find out what it takes to build your own business during the training taking the entrepreneur ship and get ready to sail away!

In this workshop, we’ll explore what entrepreneurship means, and what obstacles and rewards it can bring. You will get the opportunity to explore what ‘entrepreneurial’ skills are. What knowledge you need and insights you already have within you and your fellow peers. Also, we’ll discuss how you could transfer your unique talents, knowledge and skills into school projects. Note that this workshop is also open to students who don’t necessarily want to be an entrepreneur, but who are simply interested in the subject.

Entrepreneurship entails a lot more than just starting your own company.
It’s a way of life, including seeing (and seizing!) opportunities and taking chances.
